Cracked heels are a sign of lack of attention to foot care rather than just exposure or lack of moisturizing. Cracked heels are also known as heel fissures.   •  Before going to bed, mix some liquid soap in a foot tub filled with warm water.
  • Soak your feet in this warm soapy water for about 20 minutes.
  • Use a pumice stone to gently scrub off the loosened dead skin cells.

HERBAL NEEM-TULSI: Neem is an anti fungal and anti bacterial leaf which when     mixed with the very skin friendly herb turmeric, can do wonders to give you smooth and soft heels.

  •  Crush the neem leaves adding a little water to get its paste.
  • Add turmeric powder to neem leaves paste. Apply this paste to the cracked heel.
  • Leave it for an hour and later wash it off with water. Use this remedy daily for effective result.

MILK-HONEY: Milk and honey is the best natural exfoliating mix made to cure cracked heels.

  •  Pour the honey and milk into a foot soaking basin and mix it well. Soak your feet for 15- 20 minutes in this mixture.
  • After about 10 minutes start massaging your heels. Keep doing it for about 10 minutes.
  • Later wash it off with lukewarm water to obtain soft and supple feet.

LEMON JUICE: Lemon juice is a very mild natural acid that helps to dissolve dead and dry skin so that it can easily be removed.

  • Soak your feet for 10- 15 minutes in warm water with lemon juice added to it.
  • Scrub your cracked heels using a pumice stone.
  • Wash your feet and pat dry with a towel.

VASELINE: At the end of your busy day this simple method could give you relief from cracked heels.

  •  Soak your feet in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes.
  • Rinse feet and pat dry.
  • Make a healing mixture comprising one teaspoon of Vaseline and the juice of one lemon.
  • Rub this mixture onto the cracked heels and see the changes in a couple of days.

BANANA: This is a simple home remedy which can be used on a daily basis to prevent and treat cracked heels.

  • Apply the pulp of a ripe banana on the cracked area of the heel.
  • Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse it clean.

COCONUT OIL: Coconut oil is an incredible remedy for treating cracked heels.

  •  Before going to sleep, soak your feet in warm water and scrub it with a loofah.
  • Dry your feet and apply coconut oil on your feet.
  • Put on a clean pair of socks for the night.
  • Next morning remove the socks and wash your feet. Do it daily for better results.

 OATMEAL AND OLIVE OIL: This remedy should be done in alternate days to get rid of cracked heels.

  •  Mix the powdered oatmeal and olive oil to make a thin paste.
  • Apply this over your feet especially on the cracked parts.
  • Leave it for about half an hour and rinse it off with cold water.

ALOE VERA:  This remedy is good for people with diabetes.

  •  Crush the basil leaves to get its paste.
  • Mix turmeric tulsi paste and camphor powder with aloe Vera gel.
  • Mix well and apply on your cracked heels. Leave it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Wash off with lukewarm water.

 PARAFFIN WAX: A continuous application of this solution for 10 to 15 days can achieve desirable results.

  • Melt paraffin wax and mix it well with little mustard oil.
  • Apply on the cracked heels. Rinse it off in the morning.

OTHER SIMPLE TIPS TO FOLLOW:

  • Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated.
  • Eat foods that contains vitamin E.
  • Food with mineral, calcium, zinc, iron should be included in the regular meal to curb deficiencies that cause cracked heels.
  • Exercise the feet regularly.
  • Wear right fitting socks which will allow your feet to breathe properly.
  • Use mild soaps while bathing.
  • Keep feet clean and dirt free.
  • Do not bath in excess hot water.
  • Avoid walking bare feet as much as possible.
  • Avoid excessive sweating of feet.
  • Avoid the use of alcohol and caffeine.
