It is very easy to make sprouts at home. Wash the gram 2 to 3 times, then soak in drinking water for 6 to 8 hrs. Drain the water and hang the soaked grams in a wet muslin cloth. Leave it for 16 hrs. Ensure the cloth is damp at regular intervals. You will observe strands of sprouts emerging from the gram. The sprouts are ready for use.
